Mr. Knott taught in London．He lived a long way from school，so he was usually quite tired when he got home．At nine o'clock one evening，When the moment he went to bed，the telephone rang．He went downstairs. picked up the telephone and said，“This is White Bridge 1313 . Who's speaking，please?” (heavy)
“Watt,” a man answered．(light)
“What's your name，please?” Said Mr. Knott． (heavy)
“Watt，is my name,” said the answer．(light)
“Yes．I asked you that．What's your name?”(heavy)
“I told you．Watt’s my name， said the other man．“Are you Jack
Smith?” (light)
“No．I'm Knott.” Answered Mr. Knott．(heavy)
“Will you please give me your name? ”said the other man．(light)
“Will Knott，”answered Mr. Knott．(heavy)

Both Of them put the telephone down angrily and thought：“That
was a rude and stupid man!”
